Get pumped: Instagram has released 2022 recap templates for Reels, which feature narration from various celebrities and offer a fresh way to commemorate your year.
As seen in these screenshots, Instagram is now informing users to "Create Your 2022 Recap Reel" in-stream. When activated, this prompt will guide you through the process of combining posts and videos that you've shared during the year into a specific Reels design.
According to Instagram:
You will manually select your own content from the past year, such as films, photos, and recollections, to include in your Reel and share with your followers after selecting your framework and narrative.
This is an illustration of how the template appears; you would overlay your memories and videos over Priah Ferguson's narration.
Which is a little strange. You don't need someone else to recount your own recollections, right?
However, the influencers selected to narrate these templates are all quite well-known, including DJ Khaled, Bad Bunny, and Badshah.
I don't know, maybe that works for you.
In either case, the celebration posts will probably be quite well-liked, with the in-feed alerts helping to raise awareness of the option and encouraging many others to tap through, even if only to see how it appears.
Additionally, it might serve as a reminder for brands to tell their story from the year in order to honor their consumers, successes, and accomplishments in 2022.
To each their own, but perhaps you don't need DJ Khaled screaming over it.
For several weeks into 2023, Instagram's 2022 recap templates will be accessible to everyone. Your recap will remain on the Reels page of your Instagram profile once you've uploaded it.
